Thunderbird and iCloud Calendar

I've switched preferred browsers over the years, but I've been using Mozilla Firefox for many years now. For one, it's one of the few browsers that will let me change my home page for new tabs and new browser windows without trying to override them every so often.

I've also been using Thunderbird for a while, after over a decade of not using it. It's still much like I remembered it to be honest, "a cousin of Outlook Express" in a way, now long discontinued. I've got it hooked up with accounts on my personal domain.

Having multiple email accounts is fine (that's how I want them setup), but multiple calendars can be a mess, because, well, I can only do one thing at a time. So I decided to merge all my calendar information on my iCloud account, which I can then look at from various Apple devices.

Now, Apple doesn't make this easy, but thankfully the instructions at Thunderbird iCloud calendar sync work just fine. You'll need to do some manual steps and look for bits of URL, but it should take about five minutes and it should all work quite beautifully in the end.

Happy calendaring!

PS: If the site ever goes down, I've got the instructions saved off.
