Reading slowly

Now that summer is here in the northern hemisphere, I find myself spending less time running around from one place to another. As a result, I am now reading more.

One of the nicer things I've done for myself is to stop reading from my phone or even my Kindle as much, and turned to reading actual books. It's more comfortable to my eyes, and somehow it's more comfortable overall to fell a book in my hands.

Another thing that I'm doing is reading with fewer interruptions, for longer periods of time. And I don't rush the experience. If an idea comes up that makes me think, I stop reading and think. I'm in no rush to finish what I'm reading.

It seems I can better remember things this way, and I get more depth out of what I'm reading, but more than anything, I find the experience more pleasurable.

May nothing rush you through the things you enjoy!
